Carson Iceberg Wilderness - High Trail

Sahara finds a comfy spot. Sorry Jonathan, I guess you're out!
and off we go, ...the blind leading the blind...
the hovering clouds loom like sentinels...
large mobile patches of light and shadow...
remains of a fallen giant...
pooch and i take a break - me in my tinkerbell outfit...
Jonathan begins a steep descent...
Sahara: "I can't believe you make me wear these silly boots!"
looking down Carson River; southbound view upstream- make sense?
pinecones galore!!!!
Sahara nests amongst the tall grass...
view of the east bank...
Jonathan discovers a giant marshmallow stick!
exposed roots along the bank
the sun dips and the temperatures begin to fall...
patterns...

Jonathan, why did you push that tree down?
signs of an approaching winter...
Offended by Sahara's joke, Jonathan seeks some alone time...
Sahara and Jonathan go exploring!
signs of life and color amidst the quiet...
contemplating: "...did i leave the seat up before i left home?"
as the temperature rapidly drops, i find faith and begin to pray
...waking up to a lovely morning!
"Wish you were here Lorena ...to carry my stuff" - love Jonathan
tall lanky Jonathan tries to blend in with the trees...
Sahara sports the new rugged "one-boot-on/one-boot-off" style...
Jonathan trudges through the brush to reconnect with the trail
Sahara: "Will you put the camera down and hurry up!"
every line tells a story!
Jonathan attempts a Gene Kelly dance routine with his stick!
hmm, ...Sahara is unamused and unimpressed...
one fertile valley!!!
trailmarkers! - we're on trail!
Poochy and his trademarked three-boot style!
clouds (and chills) set in for the evening...
Jonathan documents proof, ...that we were actually there!
one relieved backpacking party ...back at the trailhead!
an array of photos from Jonathan and i on our trek up, (and up, and up) the High Trail in Carson Iceberg Wilderness, and south along the Carson River's west bank...

Highlights: a long ascent in both directions (is that possible?); sub 20 degree F night time temperatures; ...and not a soul in sight during the whole weekend (except one lone backpacker late sunday afternoon)...
